Star Atlas universe expands with more content and accessibility features
Star Atlas recently took another step forward with a game update filled with exciting changes like new maps and modes that look to enhance the gameplay experience. The developers aim to host another public preseason in 2025, and this update is just the beginning.
One of the highlights of the update is the Crewcards system, which allows players to interact with their crew members on a more personal level. Star Atlas devs look to perfect this experience to feature even more personalized gameplay experiences in the future, so players are welcome to provide any feedback from their interactions.
Deathmatch game mode is now an option in Paizul's Arena. While this may be a minor addition, ensuring all maps are optimized for various game modes can increase Star Atlas' replayability in the long run.
The update brought new racing tracks to Planet Ioki, which players can access in self-hosted lobbies. Once you're done racing, you can step into the ONI Faction Central Space Station for the first time and then test out Project Galia, a flight demo.
The Foundation Below New Maps and Modes Gets Stronger
Regarding quality-of-life updates, the Fleet Command mode had its visuals improved alongside UI changes. Gameplay updates include tweaks to health points, movement speeds, and numerous animation and camera improvements.

Star Atlas has also been experimenting with better ways to onboard players, and the devs decided to make crypto wallet logins optional for its UE5 game modes. This move follows an industry-wide trend since Axie Infinity also introduced keyless wallets with Ronin Waypoint at the start of 2025.
In recent years, Web3 games have shifted their focus to how they can onboard more Web2 players to capture a growing interest. In the meantime, Web2 giants like Ubisoft also entered the GameFi space with Champions Tactics, and Sony even launched the mainnet of its L2 Soneium. Star Atlas offers one of the most immersive gaming experiences in the blockchain gaming space, and each new update propels the game forward to become even more accessible.
