One title that is planning on delivering tons of action-packed first-person shooter mayhem is Citizen Conflict.</p><p>Rastislav Bakala, the CEO and founder of QORPO Game Studio (the company behind Citizen Conflict), was gracious enough to answer our questions about the game. Can you give us some of the unique abilities/skills of each type?</h4><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Sure, the four classes of heroes you mentioned are going to play a significant role in team tactics, so special abilities are something to not take lightly. Overall, assault heroes are built to represent the directly offensive role, support heroes are diehards with ample defensive abilities, specialists are geeks setting up traps and mechanisms to impair enemy teams, and medics are backing up the team with healing and empowering abilities.</p><p>Specific abilities are, however, tied to a certain hero. All heroes of Citizen Conflict belong to a certain class and wield power over one active and one passive ability. Will Citizen Conflict have destructible terrain?</h4><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Sure, there will be plenty of those! Citizen Conflict will have a variety of destructible elements, such as exploding barrels and bridges that can be destroyed to alter the flow of the map and require new tactics from the teams. These elements are being implemented to add dynamism to the game and its concept.</p><h4>&nbsp;</h4><h4>Q9. Ether Island features ten distinct zones. Will there be playable maps for each zone? How many maps will there be when the game launches?</h4><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Speaking of the big picture, all of the ten playable districts will be part of a single open-world map - the entire Ether Islands. In essence, players are welcome to explore all the districts across the whole islands as they please, while their main goal is to dominate as many locations as possible for the syndicate they choose to belong to.</p><h4>&nbsp;</h4><h4>Q10. Can you provide us with more details on the Syndicate War gameplay mode? What about Conquest mode?</h4><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Syndicate War and Competitive are two main modes of <a href="https://funjible.games/games/Citizen-Conflict">Citizen Conflict</a>. Competitive gameplay features tournaments created by the community. What are the steps needed to create a tournament? Any minimum token requirement to create a tournament?</h4><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Actually, community-driven tournaments are something we are looking forward to the most. The tournaments organized by the community are, in fact, the backbone of the Citizen Conflict experience. The outcome is the freedom for players to design the tournaments as they wish and not to be limited by the game developers.</p><p>This way, the community can choose the mode, the prize pool, create a server, and play by their own rules and expectations. As soon as everything’s ready, the Citizen Conflict development team will approve the prize pool and deposit it to the transparent wallet on blockchain. After the tournament ends and sees its winners, the prize will be redistributed to the teams/players according to the leaderboard.</p><h4>&nbsp;</h4><h4>Q12. What role does land play in the Citizen Conflict? (As there is a land sale coming in Q2 2023.)</h4><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Lands are going to be a significant part of the whole QORPO ecosystem, offering yet another layer of monetization opportunities for the community. Users are thus welcome to create their own maps and levels, and there will be allocated a certain amount of a prize pool, providing that there will be officially sponsored tournaments taking place on these maps. You can understand it as a royalty system of sorts for in-game community content creation.</p><p>On top of that, lands are going to play a substantial role in the gameplay lore. One such game is Citizen Conflict, which is currently in its Alpha 2.0 phase.</p><p>Citizen Conflict is a blockchain-based first-person shooter (FPS) featuring a dystopian setting. The alpha footage of the game showcases an AAA-quality title that delivers plenty of frenetic combat alongside some deep lore. Rastislav Bakala, the founder and CEO of QORPO Game Studio, the publisher of Citizen Conflict, was kind enough to answer some of the burning questions we have about the game. Now let's dive into Part 1 of our Q&amp;A.</p><h4>Q1. The graphics (Unreal Engine 5) and action in your alpha 2.0 trailer look fantastic. It's obvious you have an experienced team. Can you tell us about yourself and your team? Any other games your team has worked on in the past?</h4><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Rastislav</strong> - I’ve always been personally highly involved in gaming and the gaming world as such. It has been my dream to bring the highest quality games to Web3 and popularize blockchain gaming among traditional users. After all, the results speak volumes.</p><h4>Q2. For a first-time player stepping into Citizen Conflict, what are some things you will recommend the player to try out? By when can gamers (public) get access to the game?</h4><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Rastislav - </strong>Citizen Conflict is going to be truly a wide-ranging experience, reaching far beyond the basic shooter game expectations. I’m confident to say that Web3 hasn’t witnessed such a gigantic effort yet.</p><p>Having said that, the first thing to try out might be our Competitive Mode focused on delivering eSports to the masses. According to recent studies, the most frequent reason for players to give blockchain games a try is to base a side income and enjoy high-quality gameplay. The Competitive Mode of Citizen Conflict satisfies both of these motivations to jump in.</p><p>Furthermore, Citizen Conflict is designed to compete in MMO waters, so players can also look forward to the vast, diverse, and imaginative open-world map stretching across the entire Ether Islands, where three syndicates constantly battle for dominance. It's interesting that none of the three player factions (Korpo, Midnight, and Hackhunters) are traditional good guys (as in a noble resistance fighting evil overlords). Thus, the game seems like a no-holds-barred struggle for resources and power. How mature do you plan on making the setting?</h4><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Rastislav - </strong>Ultimately mature. Citizen Conflict's setting and storyline are written to invoke decadence, moral ambiguity, roughness, dystopian downfall, corruption, and a certain amount of disgust. To get a better hold of what Citizen Conflict all about, let’s think of grimdark fantasy novels full of morally-decimated characters, lurid plot twists, corruption, explicit scenes, and uncensored language. Citizen Conflict serves as a window to the grimmest and foulest version of the dystopian future, where players are challenged to fight their way for survival by any means necessary.</p><h4><br>Q4. Were there any particular movies, games, books, anime, manga, etc., that influenced the design of the game and its setting?</h4><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Rastislav - </strong>We are drafting ideas from so many projects that are worthy of inspiration. But foremost, our main sources of influence and inspiration could be considered Cyberpunk 2077, the <i>Ready Player One</i> movie, and the classic old-school movie, <i>Blade Runner</i>, from 1982. The Citizen Conflict alpha 2.0 trailer shows players using vehicles. How many different vehicle types can players expect to use when the game fully launches? Any plans on having players use vehicle-mounted weapons?</h4><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Rastislav - </strong>Our goal is to flood the Ether Islands with all kinds of vehicles literally. We believe that the presence of fast cars and motorcycles will underline the innate competitive nature of Citizen Conflict. Moreover, it makes traveling across a large-scale, open-world map much more efficient. &nbsp;</p><p>We will certainly feature all types of cars, motorcycles, military transporters, helicopters, and even futuristic hovercraft, all of which are designed to fit the cyberpunk aesthetics typical of Citizen Conflict.</p><p>A large variety of vehicles will groove the Ether Islands’ ground, from fast and cool Ferrari-likes to slow transporters or killing war machines. Depending on what the player is going for, the battlefield is open, and players need to find the right tactics to succeed. Each vehicle has its advantages and disadvantages.</p><p>And how about vehicle-mounted weapons? Citizen Conflict Interview With Rastislav Bakala – Part 1

<p>Blockchain technology is becoming an agent of change in the ever-evolving realm of digital entertainment, redefining the way games are owned, played, and how they earn money. Two unique paradigms - fully on-chain games and Web3 games - have emerged within this domain. Albeit they both make use of blockchain-based technology, their architecture, complexity, scalability, and development methodology differ significantly. In this article, we are going to examine the subtle differences between these two groups, including their unique qualities and benefits, and offer examples.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><h2><strong>Fully On-chain Games: Harnessing the Integrity of Blockchain Integration</strong></h2><p><br>Astute observers of the industry would have first heard of fully on-chain games in connection with the ground-breaking, space-conquest RTS <a href="https://twitter.com/darkforest_eth">Dark Forest</a>, which was first revealed in 2020. Since then, fully on-chain games have gathered significant directional momentum.</p><div class="raw-html-embed">

</div><p>Fully on-chain games are the pinnacle of blockchain integration as they operate completely within the decentralized environment of a blockchain network. These games use smart contracts to encapsulate all game logic, assets, and interactions, promoting a transparent, immutable ecosystem of “true ownership.” Despite their infancy and inherent limitations, fully on-chain games demonstrate the potential of blockchain technology to reshape the gaming scene.</p><h3><strong>Two main characteristics that defines FOCGs:</strong></h3><p>1. Fully On-chain Game State and Logic&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;a. By implementing game state and logic on-chain, where actions have a real economic stake, players will attach greater significance to their on-chain game actions, feel deeper degrees of immersion, and have greater involvement in the game. Growth of this immersion will be possible without platform risk because of on-chain games' resistance to censorship. Running on a public blockchain also ensures that the game will persist indefinitely.</p><p><br>2. Permissionless Composability&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;a. In order to achieve a ground-up vision of an interoperable “metaverse,” on-chain games allow users to influence the canonical game experience, encourage modders to mod, and better match incentives between modders and game makers by permitting anyone (due to its permissionless nature) to extend or edit the game.</p><figure class="image"><img src="https://assets.funjible.games/blockchain_7856215_640_f17b01105a.jpg" alt="blockchain-7856215_640.jpg" srcset="https://assets.funjible.games/thumbnail_blockchain_7856215_640_f17b01105a.jpg 234w,https://assets.funjible.games/small_blockchain_7856215_640_f17b01105a.jpg 500w," sizes="100vw"></figure><p>However, on-chain games do have a flaw - every action requires a transaction. That means, whenever you make a move in the on-chain game, a pop-up will appear in your wallet and you have to sign it in order to <i>successfully</i> make that move.</p><p>Fortunately, this shortcoming of theirs can become a significant feature of on-chain games. Since transactions inevitably cost money, any transactional acts in the game should be strategically planned. They are:</p><p><a href="https://twitter.com/PirateNation">Pirate Nation</a> by <a href="https://twitter.com/ProofOfPlay">Proof of Play</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>Loot Survivor by <a href="https://twitter.com/LootRealms">Loot Realms</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<br><a href="https://twitter.com/primodiumgame">Primodium</a></p><p>Each of these games possess either a milestone or a quality that makes them one of the role models in the fully on-chain gaming sector.</p><p>With Pirate Nation, a pirate-themed turn-based game, the studio <a href="https://twitter.com/ProofOfPlay/status/1704876956762956188">secured $35 million in funding</a> during the bear market last year. That sum isn’t small given the market’s condition. Yet, they achieved it and went on to become one of the most successful fully on-chain games to onboard both fully on-chain and Web3 gamers.</p><p>Next up is Loot Survivor, a text-based survival game. They are one of the <a href="https://twitter.com/LootRealms/status/1722749795528499685">first FOCGs to go live permanently</a> on the <a href="https://twitter.com/Starknet">Starknet</a> chain. They are also the only FOCG to release a native token: <a href="https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/lords/">$LORDS</a>. Additionally, a <a href="https://twitter.com/cryptsncaverns/status/1734431928269562042">community-run project created a mod</a> (or an extension) for Loot Survivor, further proving that “Permissionless Composability” does exist right now.</p><figure class="image"><img src="https://assets.funjible.games/primodium_base_0f52288877.jpg" alt="primodium-base.jpg" srcset="https://assets.funjible.games/thumbnail_primodium_base_0f52288877.jpg 238w,https://assets.funjible.games/small_primodium_base_0f52288877.jpg 500w,https://assets.funjible.games/medium_primodium_base_0f52288877.jpg 750w," sizes="100vw"></figure><p>Lastly, we examine Primodium. A Factorio clone but fully on-chain, Primodium has been capturing the eyes of &nbsp;gamers ever since its launch on the testnet. While they have yet to go live on a mainnet, the DAU of players have been constantly increasing, suggesting that on-chain games aren’t as dead as the people thought (given its infancy).</p><p>And if you were to take a closer look at each of them, they have one similarity: every action is recorded on a public blockchain and is viewable to all; take Primodium as an example.</p><h2><br><strong>Web3 Games: When Monetization Meets Traditional Gaming</strong></h2><p><br>Comprehending Web3 gaming necessitates acknowledging its capacity to transform the gaming industry. A Web3 game platform is more than just incorporating blockchain into gaming; it is about building an ecosystem in which players have true ownership of in-game assets and the gaming experience is more engaging, immersive, and player-driven.</p><p>Web3 games, while embracing blockchain technology, provide a hybrid strategy that combines on-chain and off-chain aspects to provide immersive gaming experiences. These games use blockchain for asset ownership, transactions, and interoperability, but still rely on standard web infrastructure for game logic, graphics rendering, and networking. If a comparison were to be made, Web3 games are more mature than (fully) on-chain games when it comes to how long they have been in the blockchain gaming scene.</p><div class="raw-html-embed">

</div><h3><strong>Two main characteristics that defines Web3 gaming:</strong></h3><p>1. Ownership and Monetization of In-Game Assets (NFTs, etc.)&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;a. In traditional gaming, ownership is primarily a symbolic term. Web3 technologies allow for true ownership of in-game assets, which redefines player engagement.
